We share responsibility for creating a successful learning environment

Students and instructors share a responsibility to create a successful learning environment. The key to a successful learning environment is that there is a mutual respect between students and instructors. Every student must demonstrate respect and courtesy to all other members of the class as well as to every instructor. Students who behave in the classroom or in lab sections in such a way that the educational experiences of other students and/or the instructors' course objectives are disrupted, will be subject to disciplinary action, including losing attendance credit for the day (counting as an unexcused absence) and possible expulsion from the course. Disruptive behavior may include but is not limited to: unauthorized and off-task use of electronic devices during lecture or sections; not wearing masks appropriately, cursing or shouting at others in such a way as to be disruptive; or, other violations of an instructor's expectations for classroom conduct.
